I thought this was a jury box. Turns out it's
a holding area for morons on their march to jump in the sea.
Now what makes a person dumb? I don't equate being dumb with I.Q. - I have a high I.Q. and can't balance my fucking checkbook. Not that I'm incapable, it just never seems to be on my list of things to do - it doesn't register in my mind as important. Mental retardation does not fall in the category of dumb, either. Some people have a bona fide excuse for not knowing who the Vice President is. The average American however, is VERY dumb. You have no excuse for not knowing who the V.P. is. You are dumb because you are too mentally lazy to get any information or facts that you can't get from a 15 second MTVNews clip between booty videos on TRL. You are dumb because you accept as fact anything some blonde skank tells you about world events on a 30 minute show about Hollywood.
This case has shown with startling clarity everything that is wrong with our society and political structure. Most people believe Libby was charged with leaking Valerie Plame's name to Robert Novak. Let me back up - most of you probably don't even recognize those names, you fucking idiots. But I digress. It turns out Richard Armitage admitted to the special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald he leaked the name. It also turns out Mrs. Wilson (Plame) was not undercover in the sense of the law created to protect such operatives. Still with me? Probably not - you most likely wandered off to watch 'Entertainment Tonite' to find out what happened in the world today or to go get a dry drool rag. Therefore Libby was not charged with 'outing' her.
No, much like Martha Stewart Libby fucked up and talked to the F.B.I. without a lawyer or having his shit together, and made some mistakes in front of the grand jury. He was charged with what we call a 'process crime'. He actually only committed his crime during the investigation of what turned out to not even be a crime. They had no evidence on Martha to convict her of what she was initially investigated for, so they got her for fucking up during the process of the investigation. Libby went down the same way. He had absolutely nothing to do with the leak of a woman's name who was in no danger at all, but fucked up during the process. Have you figured out the meaning of 'process crime' yet? If not, why don't you go stare at the sun until you get it. Now let's take a look at some of the dumbest Americans on record in the last - well, forever. The Libby jury.

Two possible Libby jurors. These guys might actually
have been overqualified, though.
This fine group of 12 upstanding American citizens directly form our nation's capitol put tons of tireless effort into fulfilling their civic duty. They put their lives on hold to sit through the agonizing process of jury selection, only to be cut off from each other and the outside world upon making the cut. Then they sat through three weeks of testimony, rebuttals, motions, objections, bad breath, examinations, cross examinations, and juror number three's body odor. After all this, they retired to the jury room for ten long days of deliberations. In order to avoid a deadlocked jury and a mistrial, they finally appealed to the judge for help. THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT LEWIS 'SCOOTER' LIBBY WAS FUCKING CHARGED WITH. After three weeks of testimony and ten days of deliberations, they had no goddamned clue what this poor man was even charged with. After the judge told them, they reached a "guilty on four of five accounts" after only three hours. WTF?
This is truly a sad moment in American history. Not because a man was railroaded by a system just so a prosecutor could get a conviction under his belt, nor because others such as Sandy Berger who commit serious breaches of national security get a slap on the wrist while this happens. This ordeal is just stunning worldwide proof of how dumb ordinary everyday Americans are. The people on this jury more than likely couldn't pass the citizenship test LEGAL immigrants have to take. I would like to know why it took three more hours to reach the guilty decision, and why they think he lied to the grand jury and not the F.B.I. Most likely it's nothing so serious as having a holdout or jurors who truly were undecided. They were probably trying to decipher the wierd code the judge answered their question in.
You know...english.
