First, I'll take you through the Iraq War Spending Bill and how it signals our defeat, and then all the bullshit of the Democrats. President Bush asked for and our soldiers deserve a war bill that funds their needs, nothing more. Knowing there is not actual public support for surrendering Iraq to the forces of terror, the Dems decided to attach their surrender bill to this. Yes, the American people want the war to be over, but they want it to end in victory - not defeat. As they could not even muster the votes they needed to pass this in a House of Representatives they control, they had to buy votes from within their own party to the tune of 25 billion dollars in pork barrel spending. It's a bill that was doomed from the start, and the democrats knew it. Pundits and commentators such as Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity have said for a long time that the left was playing politics with our troops, but now they are doing it openly for all to see on the world stage. Buying votes to pass a bill you know will be vetoed - in the process harming our troops - just to score political points is appalling.
Now, let's go over the recent lies and propaganda of the left, and how this bill has brought them all out.
The Propaganda Bush does not listen to his commanders on the ground. |
The Fact The democrats who put this bill together completely ignored the recommendations and the pleas of not only Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, but the commander of our forces in Iraq General David Petraeus. |
||
| We are going to have the most ethical congress in history, and get rid of earmarks. | Pelosi and her ilk inserted over 25 billion dollars in pork to buy votes from their own party members. Peanut storage facilities and spinach farms do not provide our troops with the material and support they need. | ||
| We support the troops. | Since when is passing a bill you know will be vetoed and thereby delaying the funding our soldiers need support? | ||
| Bush plays politics with the soldiers' lives. | By inserting the withdrawal deadline to score points with the likes of MoveOn.org, the democrats have virtually guaranteed the soldiers will not get their funding by the April 15th deadline. They are putting the soldiers and their families lives and well being on the line in attempt to force Bush to authorize a troop withdrawal. | ||
| The American people want the war over NOW and our troops out of Iraq immediately. | If that were truly the case, the dems would have simply de funded the war altogether. But they don't have the nuts to do it because they know the truth - the American public wants a victory. | ||
| Republicans are controlled by special interest groups. |
That's really all there is to say about that, isn't there? Nancy Pelosi on a MoveOn.org banner. |
It's sick and sad the way our nation's newly elected leaders are disregarding our nation's security and our troops lives to play political footsie with a bunch of hard leftists. They should be ashamed, and those who support their bullshit should be as well. They keep claiming our soldiers should not be pawns in the political arena, yet they themselves have made them sacrificial lambs to a presidential campaign they have started a year early. That's what this is all about - Election '08. The dems know as well as our military commanders how quickly Iraq will collapse without a strong American military presence. And they hope to use it as political leverage by doing the same thing they will do when the troop funding runs out with the mainstream media carrying their water as they perform this nefarious task. What is it they will do to accomplish their goal you ask?
The same thing they did when 9-11 happened and Hurricane Katrina hit the shore - blame Bush.
Update 3/26/07 - This morning while listening to the radio, CNN Radio News came on and reported this bill was $122 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan which is an outright lie. 100 billion was for the war, the other 22 billion was taxpayer money the Democrats threw around to buy votes from their own party. And you wonder why conservatives don't trust the media.
