Team Smash Racing

4 out of the 5 Team Smash Racing teams were in Daytona for the 3rd Annual Countdown to Daytona event at FSracing.net. All four teams qualified for the heat races which would decide the field for Tuesdays main event. A bit of bad luck bit the #13 Edge Fitness car of Mike Pickens who had issues and could not even take the green in the 1st heat race. This left Steve Jackson all alone out there in the #19 BobSmash.com Tundra. Steve had a rough beginning to the night and ended up getting a lap down. Then with some determination and a good timed yellow Steve was able to get back on the lead lap and come home with a solid top 10 finish. The #72 of Mike Fravert took home the victory.

Night number 2 of the heat races saw Dan Bellefeuille in the #55 Napa Tundra and Ron Hart in the #4 Pro Adjuster Toyota take to the high banks. The two worked together all night and were never outside of the top 10 the whole race. Ron led the most laps in the race with 19 circuits but could not come home with the checkered flag as he got passed by the #16 of Gary McGuire on a late restart. Gary would hold on to win and Ron would battle to a 2nd place finish. Dan was in the top 5 right on Ron’s bumper for most of the night but got behind the #87 truck of Gary Bellah late in the running and fell to 6th in the final run down.

Watch for Mike Pickens in the last chance race on Monday and then for Dan, Ron, and Steve in the big show on Tuesday night at 9:05 est on FSRtv.

With just 2 weeks before the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway, Team Smash Racing had their annual media day today. The team was proud to announce their 5 car lineup. Steve Jackson will be back in the #19 but with a new sponsor in Bobsmash.com. Dan Bellefeuille will be driving the famous NAPA sponsored #55 this year. Team owner Bobby Childs Jr. will be back in his #3 car but with B.C. Rich Guitars on the hood. The team made the announcement a while back that Ron Hart would be joining the team to pilot the #4 but the team unveiled the sponsor this week as Pro Adjuster. Finally in a move that was kept very secretive until today the teams fifth driver who will drive the Edge Fitness car will be Mike Pickens. Mike will bring his #13 with him to TSR.

Don’t forget about the Countdown to Daytona race coming up on February 5th. Qualifying will be complete after tonight’s sessions so check back tomorrow for an update on where all the TSR drivers stand heading into the heat races.

With the 2008 FS-Real Racing Season fast approaching Team Smashing Racing is putting together the final touches on its driver / sponsor lineup. The team is in the process of finding the all important 5th driver for the 2008 season after Ken Reeder had to pull out of the team due to some personal schedule conflicts. “We wish Ken all the best in the future” says Bobby Childs Jr. TSR Owner. “We appreciate everything he has done for our organization and for giving us enough time to find a capable 5th driver.” Watch for updates in the near future with the unveiling of the 5th driver as well as sponsor updates and 2008 paint schemes and car files.

Hi all! I’m changing the structure of the TSR homepage due to all the painting we’re doing, and the decision to begin posting our work for download. So soon you’ll see the drivers return to the site as well as the sponsors, with the added bonus of being able to download our paint schemes, templates, and car viewer files.
